Twisters to Join With WMAS-FM to Help the Children’s Miracle Network
The Massachusetts Twisters are pleased to announce that the American Indoor Soccer League club will be teaming up with WMAS-FM 94.7 to support the station’s Radiothon for the Children’s Miracle Network at Baystate Childrens Hospital.
This Saturday night, one dollar from every ticket sold for that night’s match between the Twisters and the New York Hampton Surf at the Eastern States Coliseum will be donated to WMAS-FM for their fundraising drive for the CMN.
“This is an incredibly worthwhile effort, and the Twisters are honored to partner with WMAS-FM to help raise money,” said Twisters owner Paul Lapointe. “The Children’s Miracle Network helps the youngest members of our society who are facing the some of the biggest hurdles of their young lives. How can you see something like that, and not be moved enough to want to help?”
The Children’s Miracle Network is an organization charged with saving and improving the lives of children through its network of 170 hospitals in the United States and Canada. CMN hospitals treat over 17 million children every year, and provide over two billion dollars worth of charitable care every year.
This is the sixth year that WMAS-FM has produced a Radiothon for the CMN. Headed by the station’s “Morning Crew” of Dina and Paul, the station’s efforts paid off last year when listeners pledged an amazing $192,000.00 over the three-day event. The funds raised were donated to help fund pediatric research, patient care, and advocacy at the Baystate Children’s Hospital in Springfield. This year’s WMAS-FM Radiothon runs from March 1st through the 3rd.
