AISL Champion Twisters Team Up With the Special Olympics Massachusetts!!!

(Cleveland, OH-July 21, 2007) Bill Bullock, general manager of the 2007 American Indoor Soccer League champion Massachusetts Twisters, announced this morning that the club has announced a partnership with the Special Olympics Massachusetts.

"Soccer is one of our largest and fastest growing sports,” said Special Olympics Massachusetts president and CEO Bob Johnson. “A partnership with the Twisters makes sense on so many levels. I am confident that the Twisters will be as inspired by our athletes as our athletes will be by them."

On the weekend of August 10-12, the Twisters will be a part of the annual Special Olympics August Softball Tournament, which will be held at Nonotuck Park in Easthampton. Twisters players and staff will be on hand at the “Olympic Town” area of the tournament working with the Special Olympians participating in the tournament. Also the Twisters will be involved in the Opening Ceremonies on Friday August 10th at 8pm.

Olympic Town is an area for the athletes to go throughout the day when they have a break in competition. Twister players will be appearing on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-2pm.

“The players and I are really looking forward to the work we are going to be doing with the Special Olympics, " said Bullock.
