Twisters Come From Behind For First Win of the Season
| |  | | | (Springfield, MA-December 14, 2008) The Massachusetts Twisters won their first game in the National Indoor Soccer League against the Monterrey LaRaZa on Sunday afternoon 12-8. The Twisters were down 4-0 going into the third quarter. A second goal from Byron Alvarez put LaRaZa ahead 6-0. The Twisters started their come back with a goal from Franco Catearra. A second goal, three point shot, scored by John Krause put them within one heading into the fourth. Neil Krause scored a goal to put the Twisters ahead but not for long. Monterrey’s Jose Birche came back with another goal to get the crowd even more pumped up. The Twisters scored two more goals within the last few minutes of the game, sending them into winning their first game in the new league.
The Twisters hit the road for an away game in Rockford on December 27, 2008. They return for the start of a three game home stand on January 3, 2008.
The NISL features the Baltimore Blast, the 2008 MISL champion, the Philadelphia Kixx, la Raza de Monterrey (Mexico), as well as the Rampage and Twisters. Many of the top indoor players in the world play in the NISL, including stars such as Denison Cabral (Baltimore), Jamar Beasley (Rockford), Genoni Martinez (Monterrey), and Pete Pappas (Philadelphia).
